Nice HP meso that had just been carved out from the great Classic phase of the cell that had produced the Woods, KS tornado (which we had arrived too late to see). Major inflow had been replaced by major RFD that morphed the cell into the above.
A fun chase that started out at AMA and resulted in spending most of the afternoon in Hooker, OK doing data updates on Johns laptop and plotted using the great old WeatherGrapix DOS application. Too bad when the cells went up there was a lot of obscuring convection as we had drifted up NE of Liberal when it became clear from the nice crisp anvil that suddenly came into view we had to get back S and W.
A really enjoyable chase day!
