This series of images were created to simply have a good documentation of my first trip west out of Denver on I-70 to Grand Junction (my first trip through the Rockies was Pueblo – Montrose – Grand Junction). All these images were taken handheld at highway speed (6D with 70-200 F4 IS), with constant scanning for interesting composition opportunities. Many images include other vehicles, less than optimal lighting/exposures, and some minor camera shake/instability (goal was to keep the shutter speed high!).
Besides simple documentation I got a number of images I like and captured some perspectives that would be hard to get with a tripod (like the tunnel shots). It was work but it was also fun! Thanks again to Doug Glennie for handling the driving duties so I could be free to capture these!!
